“A role model”, “you have made a difference”, “a completely unique initiative that was really needed for a long time”, “you have achieved a lot<\/b> in just three years” \u2013 there were many words of praise at the project’s final conference.<\/b><\/p>\n

In this newsletter we have tips on foundations and funds to seek money from and a report from an information meeting in Russian and how refugees from Ukraine are doing.<\/b><\/p>\n

We also have information about changes on the website and about the project <\/b>Support center for migrants with disabilities<\/i><\/b>, which starts now on April 1.<\/b><\/p>\n

Final conference of the project<\/a><\/h3>\n

On March 5, the Independent Living Institute’s project Disabled Refugees Welcome – The Right to Work (DRW-RTA) had its final conference. Among others, Malin Ekman Ald\u00e9n, Director General at MFD spoke, and praised the project and called it a completely unique initiative. Other speakers were Mikael Klein fr\u00e5n Misa and the project’s lawyer Mari Siilsalu.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here is an updated list of a total of ten different foundations and funds you can apply for money from. You can apply for money for education, aids and other things that can help you get a job. There are also links to other articles with tips on how you can strengthen your finances.<\/span><\/p>\n

Support to start your own business<\/a><\/h3>\n

If you don\u2019t have\u00a0 a job and you have a good business idea, you can try to get support from the employment agency to start your own business. However, it can be difficult to find information about the grants. They say that the person applying for this is expected to be active and independent.<\/p>\n

Legal advice in Russian<\/a><\/h3>\n

The project’s final event was an information meeting in Russian for the project’s participants from Ukraine. Anna Zot\u00e9eva, lawyer and former employee of the Independent Living Institute project The law as a tool, held the meeting. She also shared a series of links to her social media where you can get ongoing information in Russian.<\/p>\n

The project’s reference articles in one place<\/a><\/h3>\n

Now all DRW-RTA’s articles with the most reference material are under their own tab: Information material \u2013 Factual articles. The links to the articles are sorted under different subject headings, in alphabetical order, and under each heading in chronological order.<\/p>\n

\"Rahel<\/a><\/h3>\n

The website is taken over by the new project and the consultancy continues<\/a><\/h3>\n

DRW-RTA is now ending, but Disabled Refugees Welcome continues with new projects. Now, April 1, starts Support center for migrants with disabilities. This means that Ashraf and Rahel will continue to provide advice and support. In addition, the website will continue . DRW-RTA’s information material, as well as the articles, which are still current, will remain and hopefully be easy to find. The new project will also, 4 times\/year, continue to send out short newsletters with updates on the status of the project.<\/p>\n

Another new ILI project<\/h3>\n

It should also be mentioned that the Independent Living Institute (ILI) is starting another new project now: My life, my choice! The right to support to decide for yourself, financed by the Swedish Inheritance Fund. The project is about improving the guardianship system with supported decision-making.\u00a0 A new website is planned. Google the project name in a few weeks and it will probably pop up!<\/p>\n
