Apply for grants from funds and foundations on your way to work and integration in Sweden

Moving to Sweden and starting a new life can be difficult, especially if you have a disability. We at Disabled Refugees Welcome – The Right to Work and Mutual Integration want to support you in getting a job and being part of Swedish society. 

Did you know that there are trusts and foundations that can give you money? You can use the money for education, aids and other things that can help you get a job. Here are some examples of foundations that you can apply for money from:

Bidragsstiftelsen

  • Can give money to people with reduced mobility.
  • You can apply as an individual or through an association.
  • The money can be used for education, activities, travel, aids and other things that improve your life.
  • Apply between 1 May and 1 September each year.

SVCR Foundation: Swedish Central Committee for Rehabilitation (SVCR)

  • Provides grants to people with reduced mobility, deafness, hearing and visual impairment.
  • The application period is from 1 November to 1 March.

Tips when you apply

  • Read carefully what each foundation requires in its application.
  • Be clear about what you need the money for.
  • Submit your application on time.

Important

  • It is not certain that you will receive money, even if you meet the requirements.
  • Many people apply, so the competition can be tough.
