Disabled Refugees Welcome (DRW) – Verkligheten vid Covid 19 för migranter med normbrytande funktionalitet

Många av DRWs deltagare, migranter med normbrytande funktionalitet har det svårare på grund av Covid 19. Detta beror på många saker men främst på otillgängliga boenden, avsaknad av sociala insatser och ett socialt nätverk. Flera av dessa människor bor i socio-ekonomiskt svaga områden, har svårt att komma hemifrån och är isolerade. De som bor med anhöriga har svårare att distansera sig från varandra på grund av trångboddhet. Papperslösa faller ofta utanför sjukvård och förebyggande vårdinsatser.

(English) Short Impact Report – June 2020

(English) This short impact report offers a glimpse of the work carried out by DRW from September 2017 until June 2020. A goal has been to keep the report short so detail is limited but still given so that the reader can gain a good understanding of the project at hand. The purpose of this document is to be able to spread information on DRW with a hope to find funding for a future national knowledge and support center for disabled migrants.

The COVID-19 pandemic is indeed particularly harmful to those who are most vulnerable from a health point of view. Social isolation measures, the risk of infection for bothcare professionals and personswith disabilities,together withthe limited availability of protective material create additional challenges.

(English) Corona – Covid 19 is a world pandemic and crisis for all countries. This both as the healthcare systems are overloaded and people are dying. We are also in a world economic crisis to which we do not see the end nor grasp the results.

DRW bjöd alla intresserade från vår målgrupp till ett digitalt informationsmöte om Coronaviruset COVID-19. Mötet hade 10 deltagare som visade stort intresse för ämnet. (English) Disabled Refugees Welcome at Järvaveckan 2019

(English) Disabled Refugees Welcome project participated in the Järvaveckan for the first time from the 12th of June until the 16th of June. Järvaveckan is about reducing the distance between people and elected representatives. The living hub of Järvaveckan is a great meeting place for community engagement.

(English) My name is Brooke Antol, and I am about to begin my last academic year at North Carolina State University, where I am studying Political Science with the goal of attending law school after graduation. I chose to come to Sweden for the summer because I was eager to learn about Swedish and Scandinavian culture.

(English) Julius Ntobuah from DRW met with representatives from Huddinge and Salem municipalities and with the organisation Hela Människan in Botkyrka, the Swedish church in Huddinge as well as with other organisations.
